We have over 1,600 different surnames in our database from over 9,000 individuals.  You may view the surnames on our surname page.  

We have not updated the website database in over two years due to health problems but hopefully will be able to do so soon as we now have more than 16,000 individuals in our genealogy file. 

Here are a few of my personal favorite people in our family tree:  My Grandfather who died when my Mother was only two years old, James Stanton Martin of Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee and my Grandmother, Hattie Mae Stafford who died when my Mom was six years of age.  I never knew them nor did she which is why I began my genealogy quest many years ago as a child wanting so desperately to know something about them.   Johannes Kraft (first immigrant to North America), Jacob Benawa (his wife died and he raised 11 children on his own).  Unheard of in those days!   My Great-Grandmother, Lily nee Sicard Jibson, a woman of many talents and full of love.

Although we have more than 1,600 different surnames on Family Thread.com; they derive from our primary family history lines of Kraft, Benawa, Jibson, Younger, Sicard, Thompson, Martin, Stafford, Harley, Flatt and Getman Family primary surnames.

The primary geographical locations for the Kraft family is Ansbach, Bavaria, Germany; Waterloo, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada; Kent County, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; and Indianapolis, Indiana.  Some other interesting related Indiana families include the McMillen family of Seymour, Indiana formerly of Bedford, Indiana; as well as the Mills Family who are tied to both our Kraft and Younger family lines.  The Younger Family gang originated in Glasgow, Scotland, migrating to Maryland and Virginia and then on to North Carolina; Kentucky, Missouri and Kansas.   The Jibson family is from Hive, Yorkshire, England with one member migrating to Michigan and another to Ontario, Canada.  The Taylor family originated in Northumberland, England migrating to the Mineral, Cherokee County, Kansas during the great mining boom.   

Our Stafford line has been in the United States before it was a nation during Colonial times migrating from Virginia, North Carolina and Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee where our Martin, Harley and Flatt family lines once lived as well (many are still in the Cumberland River area in Middle Tennessee).

We have over 10,000 individuals in the database right now and we still have three of our main family lines yet to upload.  We are working to get all the photos and documents that were on the old site moved over to the new one as well as finish adding all the other ones that were not on the old site.  Each document and picture must be linked to a specific person. This will enable you to see all documents and images that relate to each person in one place without having to jump back and forth all over the place.  Once inside, click on all the icons to see all the different views.  Play around, have fun and enjoy!
